Cladophora Prolifera This Green wiry macroalgae grows out from rock work on a single stem, branching out into a flat divided bush structure. This algae does not spread along the rock work on runners but instead grows branches out in to the water column growing in size in all directions. I have had this algae growing in a full macroalgae reef system for two years and it hasn't displayed any invasive tendencies. It can reproduce by sending spores into the water column just like any other desirable macroalgae, and populate surfaces like aquarium glass etc. This is a slow growing green algae from my observations.
