Galaxura rugosa is a stiff, bushy red macroalgae. It has a unique appearance and very slow growth. It is however extremely hardy and can be superglued or wedged into place. It is very tolerant to aquarium conditions and will do well in almost all saltwater aquaria. It will grow faster in better conditions and slow down when unhappy. It is very hard to kill however but not invasive.
This macroalgae is extremely rare in the UK and as far as we can tell PlantedReef is the only place this species is readily available from.
