Cryptonemia crenulata
is another highly sought after red macroalgae. It is extremely easy to care for and tolerates a wide range of conditions. As well a tough, it is also a very beautiful bright red algae. It grows initially from a hold fast, growing long red leaves, however new leaflets can grow from existing larger leaves. This growth pattern eventually creates a very dense bush like macroalgae which can grow quite large. It also grows small baby algae from it leaves which can be removed and placed elsewhere. This is an excellent algae for beginners.
